HOSTELLERIE DU GRÜNEWALD. (Still) MARBELIOSO!
It was quite a loss when Chez Brigitte in Dommeldange closed; above all style wise, as the neon writing on the shiny black tiles behind the marble bar was just a stunning motif to name but one. Classic dishes like Bouche à la Reine or a perfect "Wiener Schnitzel" either inside or on the beautiful terrace were a dream. So, when the new concept to move in there was announced, the expectations were quite high and luckily it hasn't changed too much. The new owners created their own handwriting while the former standard could be kept. The marble floor and bar still creates an elegant atmosphere, the wooden tables and Scandinavian interiors do the rest. Food wise the menu has become more sophisticated and a bit more expensive too, but the quality is worth it. Especially the desserts are enjoyable.
A pleasant change has to be named: The new bar room is a cool, yet cozy place to enjoy drinks and sometimes more - e.g. during special periods when it has already become a pop up oysters bar. Extra tipp for sunny days: The terrace at Hostellerie du Grünewald is actually one of the fewer places in Luxembourg where you can enjoy sun for many hours around lunch time and in the afternoon. Besides dining and drinking, guests are also welcome to stay the night at the hostellerie, just like in the old days.
HdG is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, for the rest of the week opened for lunch and dinner (except Saturday: just for dinner).
